Dental Implants

#1 Recommended Tooth Replacement

If you are one of the millions of people who are missing teeth and struggling with ill-fitting and/or uncomfortable dentures, we can help!  Tooth loss is more than a cosmetic issue. After the loss of a tooth, the surrounding jawbone and tissues begin to deteriorate, which can cause major complications for your dental health. The only permanent solution that can prevent bone loss is a dental implant. Because dental implants are secured directly in the jawbone in place of a former tooth’s root, they are able to maintain the function and integrity of the bone. Even better, they are made to look just like your natural teeth, so no one will ever know the difference. An implant completely restores the structure of your bite, the beauty of your smile and the function of a healthy mouth.

Statistics show that 69% of adults ages 35 to 44 have lost at least one permanent tooth to an accident, gum disease, a failed root canal or tooth decay. Furthermore, by age 74, 26% of adults have lost all of their permanent teeth

Dr. Dassani and her Houston dental team can give your smile a second chance with dental implants. Advancements in implant technology have made dental implants the preferred method of replacing missing teeth. Implants can also improve the fit, function, and stability of dentures, resolving many of the problems commonly associated with dentures. Call our office today to schedule a complimentary consultation!

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a titanium post that can be placed in the upper or lower jaw to serve as a replacement for the root portion of a 1missing natural tooth. It then fuses with the surrounding bone to become a solid anchor for the replacement tooth that goes on top of it (called a dental implant restoration). Dr. Dassani can use Dental implants to replace single or multiple missing teeth, and to stabilize dentures.

A dental implant designed to replace a single tooth is composed of three parts: the titanium implant that fuses with the jawbone; the abutment, which fits over the portion of the implant that protrudes from the gum line; and the crown, which is fitted onto the abutment for a natural appearance.

Many people who are missing a single tooth opt for a fixed bridge; but a bridge may require the cutting down/reshaping of healthy, adjacent teeth that may or may not need to be restored in the future. Then there is the additional cost of possibly having to replace the bridge once, twice or more over the course of a lifetime.

Similarly, a removable partial denture may contribute to the loss of adjacent teeth. Studies have shown that there is a failure rate of up to 30% in teeth located next to a fixed bridge or removable partial denture within 5-7 years.

Why Dental Implants?

Dental implants are not only durable and long-lasting, but they also look and feel like natural teeth. Most importantly, they function like natural teeth, so you can chew, talk, smile, and laugh with confidence again. With an overall success rate of about 95% and almost 50 years of clinical research to back them up, dental implants are frequently the best treatment option for replacing missing teeth.

They are a superb restorative option for:

  • Single Tooth Replacements.
  • This is a relatively quick procedure in which one implant replaces a missing tooth.
  • Multiple Teeth Replacements.
  • Multiple implants are placed in the jaw to create a fixed bridge that connects a series of crowns.
  • This treatment is often referred to as a full mouth restoration. A full arch replacement is permanent and more functional alternative to removable dentures for people who are missing most or all of their teeth.

An alternative to a fixed dental bridge is a removable denture that is anchored with implants. Your denture could be significantly more stable with as few as two dental implants!

Many Houston dentist patients who have selected dental implants describe a quality of life that is much more comfortable and secure than the lifestyle endured by those with fixed bridges or removable dentures. Dentures often make a person feel and look older than they are, cause embarrassment in social situations when they slip and click, and restrict the everyday pleasure of eating comfortably.

When they count the benefits they enjoy as a result of their dental implants, patients say their implants eliminate the day-to-day frustrations and discomfort of ill-fitting dentures. They allow people to enjoy a healthy and varied diet without the restrictions many denture wearers face. With a sense of renewed self-confidence, many people rediscover the excitement of an active lifestyle shared with family and friends and the chance to speak clearly and comfortably with co-workers. For all these reasons, people with dental implants often say they feel better… they look better… they live better.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?

This revolutionary option in dentistry is helping many patients who suffer from advanced tooth decay, trauma to the mouth, or extreme natural wear and tear on teeth leading to loss of teeth. There are some key considerations before deciding to get dental implants. For example, it is best to get implants after adolescence, once the teeth and jaw bones have finished developing. In addition, the process can be more complicated when performed on individuals with gum disease also known as periodontal disease, active diabetes, or immune deficiencies, as well as those who smoke. Dr. Dassani, your Clear Lake dentist, will consult with you about your medical history and oral health habits when discussing how dental implants could benefit your oral health and life.

What about Dentures?

If you are a Houston area resident missing most or all of your natural teeth, Dr. Dassani can provide a solution for you with dentures. Dentures or partial dentures can replace missing teeth, and can also be stabilized with the use of dental implants, which will help not only to stop movement of the denture, but also to help prevent deterioration of the jaw bone that is commonplace when teeth are missing. Contact your Houston dentist today to explore the best option for your needs. Proudly serving the Houston, Webster, Clear Lake, League City, and Friendswood communities.

All-On-4

A Brand New Smile in a Single Appointment

Dassani Dentistry is proud to now offer the All-On-4 Teeth in a Day replacement system for residents of Houston, Clear Lake, and surrounding areas. Rather than coming in for multiple visits, the Teeth in a Day process can be completed in as few as 24 hours, with only one or two visits to your Houston dentist.

How Does This System Work?

As the name implies, with this system, the teeth on your upper or lower jaw will be secured to four dental implant posts. With the four implants, proper stability is achieved. From there, a dental bridge will be attached to the stabilized implants. Since there are only four implants placed, your recovery time is quicker, and there is less pain involved.

Depending on what your Houston dentist recommends, this may be an option for replacing missing teeth. Give Dr. Dassani and her team a call for a consultation to see if Teeth in a Day by All-on-4 may be the right option for you.

Can This Replace or Secure My Dentures?

If you are a Houston area resident in need of dentures or a better solution for your existing dentures, our All-on-4 Teeth in a Day system may be a solution.
